Since 2008, Fotech has pushed the boundaries of what photonics and edge computing can achieve by combining talent from across the globe with patented technology, continually expanding the possibilities of fibre enabled solutions.

As Fotech moves into a new era as part of the bp Launchpad portfolio of companies, we are driven to accelerate the growth and develop a company for the future.

Fotech holds 40 patents in 14 families, monitoring and protecting thousands of kilometres of assets in more than 25 countries.

As a breakout from Surrey University, Fotech is founded with EV Private Equity and acquire Polarmetrix. The first product is produced, the Helios® HS.

The first sale into smart perimeter security monitoring sector.

The first sale into smart reservoir monitoring sector. Chris Shannon joins as CEO.

2011

First sale into smart linear asset monitoring sector. Helios® HSI product comes to market.

First sale into the smart rail monitoring sector.

Started addressing smart perimeter security monitoring sector through direct sales and non-exclusive channel partners. Commercialisation of EDAM.

Smart City project begins in Calgary. Founding member of Fibre Optic Sensing Association (FOSA).

Commercialisation of Helios® Theta.

Launch of Helios® Quasar, enhanced fibre solution.
